Global Leadership Course

The Global Leadership course is a one-credit class designed to help students gain skills vital to their success at Pitt. This course will focus on academic skills and American classroom resources, community engagement, and global leadership skills to use at the university, in your community, and in your future employment roles. The class is open to all first-year international students and domestic students, as well as upperclass domestic students. The course is highly interactive and requires students’ active participation in class discussions and group projects.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop understanding of American and foreign classroom values and available resources;
  • Practice presentations, provide feedback, and participate in group projects;
  • Develop understanding of available opportunities for engagement and networking;
  • Learn about various leadership skills and theories, specifically in a global context;
  • Learn to exercise curiosity and openness in interactions with other cultures; and
  • Develop transferrable and personal leadership skills that are relevant for effective interactions in an interconnected world.

To register for the Global Leadership Course, please enroll in the ARTSC 0802 course.  If the course is full, please email Kati Von Lehman.  If there is enough interest, we will add additional sections.
