Overview

The PASSPORT Program Series for International Students & Scholars, sponsored by the Office of International Services (OIS), is designed with you in mind—the international student or scholar! The program is one of the many ways in which OIS seeks to prepare you for success and assist you with the unique challenges you face in coming to the United States and to the University of Pittsburgh to pursue your personal and professional goals. 

Through orientation, resources, and training, this program is designed to be a complete curriculum for you that will equip and empower you for success for the duration of your program at the University of Pittsburgh. The series includes a comprehensive and coordinated cluster of sessions on various topics that are critical to your success: 

FALL 2007 SEMESTER:

  • PASSPORT to Pittsburgh: The University & the City
  • PASSPORT to Academic Success
  • PASSPORT to Cultural Adjustment
  • PASSPORT to American Customs and Holidays; Why do they do that?
  • PASSPORT to Winter in Pittsburgh

SPRING 2008 SEMESTER:

  • PASSPORT to Fall Orientation Re-Visit
  • PASSPORT to Spouse and Family Adjustment
  • PASSPORT to Working in the United States
  • PASSPORT to Wellness; Healthy Body, Healthy Mind
  • PASSPORT to End of Year Review and Summer Forecast

The exact dates, times, and locations each term will be posted on this site.

Participants in the program will receive an internet survey after each of the sessions. Participants who fill out 8 of the 10 surveys will be eligible for a grand prize drawing at the end of the Spring semester.
